National Day of Unplugging Starts Now!

In case you haven't heard, the National Day of Unplugging is about to start! From sundown on March 4 through sundown on March 5, people will be celebrating the 2nd annual National Day of Unplugging, a day created by the team behind Sabbath Manifesto as a "creative project designed to slow down lives in an increasingly hectic world."
We know what you are thinking.
Yes, we are a technology company. But, we also recognize the need to sometimes take a break from all of the gadgets, devices, apps, gizmos, machines, and other wired and wireless things that seem to control our lives today.
To celebrate the National Day of Unplugging, Sabbath Manifesto recommends that we:
- Avoid technology.
- Connect with loved ones.
- Nurture your health.
- Get outside.
- Avoid commerce.
- Light candles.
- Drink wine.
- Eat bread.
- Find silence.
- Give back.
These are short principles - the kind we like best, because it allows for personal interpretation. For example, we'll be adapting 'avoid technology' to 'limit technology'. We're going to combine #2, 3, 4 and take a long walk outside tomorrow with our familes. Taking that long walk should help us with #5 because we won't be able to shop while on a long walk. We love #6, 7, 8 - we'll do them exactly as written, no adaptations needed! We'll find #9 during the long walk (multitasking is a wonderful thing!), and we're not quite sure what we are going to do for #10 yet. This is important one to us and we want to find the right thing. We'll report back next week on what we did!
What do you think - will you join us in Unplugging (somewhat!) for the next 24 hours?
